Calcium Carbonate
PZT-CACO3-F is ground natural limestone or precipitated CaCO3, used as a weighting/bridging agent that provides moderate density and fine bridging/fluid-loss control. Critically, it is fully soluble in mild acid (HCl), so any filter cake or bridging solids it forms can be dissolved and removed on demand. The only major weighting/bridging agent that can be fully removed by acidizing after completion, critical for maximizing well productivity in the pay zone, and available across a range of ground particle sizes for engineered particle-size-distribution bridging design.

Cons & Limitations
- Lower specific gravity than barite (roughly 2.7 vs. roughly 4.3), making it impractical as the sole weighting agent for deep, high-pressure wells
- Costs more than barite per unit of density achieved
