Asphaltene Dispersants

PZT-ASPH-1 asphaltene dispersants are surfactant/polymeric additives designed to interact with asphaltene aggregates in crude oil. They adsorb onto asphaltene aggregates, sterically and electrostatically preventing them from flocculating and precipitating out of solution as pressure, temperature, or composition changes during production and transport - particularly near the bubble point where pressure depletion triggers instability. Prevents a notoriously difficult-to-remediate flow-assurance problem: once asphaltenes deposit as a hard, adherent, scale-like layer, mechanical or chemical removal (often aromatic solvent soaks or coiled tubing) is far more expensive than ongoing dispersant treatment.

  • Purely preventive - does not dissolve existing deposits
